Mother's Day Gift Guide 2020

Mother's Day is just around the corner and this year it will look & feel a bit different.

Due to social distancing restrictions, some of us might not see our mother's on Mother's Day but that doesn't mean we can't show them our appreciation!

I've rounded up some Mother's Day gift ideas supporting local businesses for inspiration.

Cawed to Say I Love You Card $4.95

No gift is complete without a card and I've found the most appropriate card for the occasion! Even though we may not be able to visit our mother's, we can still call (caw) them!

Wills & Prior sells this funny play-on-words card, sure to bring a smile to your mom's face:)

See website for more details.

Gemstone Jewelry Piece $18 +

Choose the perfect ring, bracelet or necklace for your mom from Tao Healing Essentials vast selection. Each type of stone is said to have different healing attributes so it is lots of fun to browse to find the perfect stone for your mom! See website for more details.

Coffee! $13.50 +

Balzac's is famous for their delicious coffee. Why not treat mom to a bag of coffee beans & some coffee accessories? See website for details.

Cotton Pouch with Tassel $22.95

These cute 10" x 7" pouches from Wills & Prior are multi purpose and available in four different colour combinations! See website for details.

Pajamas & Candle $125 +

Since a lot of us are living in pj's right now (including our mothers!), why not treat your mom to a new pajama set? Grace the Boutique offers a variety of pajama options and are running a Mother's Day special - with the purchase of sleepwear over $125 before tax, you will also receive a Vancouver Candle Co. candle! See website for more details.

Magnolia Table, Volume 2 $29.34 (on sale)

I admit, this is not coming from a local business, but for all of you with mom's who like to cook and read, Joanna Gaines latest cookbook has to be included on this list! See website for details.

Here are some other ideas that are free or that support local businesses:

1. A phone call or video chat (for those of us who don't live with our moms)

2. Breakfast in bed (for those of us who do live with our moms)

3. Order take out from your mom's favourite restaurant (and porch drop off as required)

4. Support a local florist by purchasing a floral arrangement for mom

5. Support small business owners who sell hand crafted items (hair scrunchies, reclaimed wood products, essential oils and so much more!)

There are so many local businesses that can use our support right now. Many have adjusted to offer online shopping, porch delivery and out-front of store pick up to be able to serve you safely.

Happy shopping my friends!

My hope is that this Mother's Day can be special for your mom no matter the circumstances!

With gratitude,

Chantelle
