Italianate Architecture
I could post a new architectural style every Monday for many months and not run out!
That being said, I've decided to bring this blog series to an end with today's post so that I can continue to share other interior design related blog posts in the next coming weeks!
In my final post for my architectural styles series, we will be learning about Italianate architecture.
The Italianate architectural movement lasted from 1860-1890 in Canada.
It was inspired by the Italian Renaissance villas and palazzos and linked to the picturesque movement.

A popular local Italianate house that you can tour is Castle Kilbride in Baden, Ontario.
It features almost all of the characteristics of an Italianate house, including a belvedere in which you can experience a sweeping view of the town and countryside!
For my not-so-local readers, I plan to tour Castle Kilbride again soon so I can share all its Italianate glory with you too!
With gratitude,
